Who’s Your Daddy?

September 20th, 2010 | by Zach Thomack
Posted In: Blog

This blog is more on a serious note. My dad is going through some tough times right now. He has been battling a deadly disease for the past few months. The good news is that he is winning the fight. The bad news is that the fight has been hard on him and its not over. This past Saturday he started the last and toughest part of his treatment. The disease he has is treated basically like a cancer and so he has to go through chemotherapy which is what he began on Saturday. My dad is one of toughest guys I know (other than myself) so I know he is going to get through this just fine. In the mean time he can use all the prayers he can get so please, if you have a direct line with the big man upstairs ask him to heal my dad and give him the strength to get through this.

If you know anyone out there who is going through some tough times of their own, lend them a helping hand even if its just something as simple as sharing some words of encouragement. No good deed goes unnoticed.

Dad I love you and I pray for you everyday. I only hope that someday I can be the type of man that I have always known you to be.

Lesson Learned

September 17th, 2010 | by Zach Thomack

Okay apparently it takes more than once for me to learn my lesson. As many of you may know my website once again was not updated at 12:01 this morning. Only this time the blame is partially my fault and partly the fault of my web host. I went to update last night and was unpleasantly surprised to find my site was down. I don’t know how long it had been down or when it came back online but when I tried contacting my hosting company the line was busy and their online support was down. I went with Host Monster as the host for my site because they were one of the top rated but this is the second time in three months my site has been down for an extended period of time.

I apologize to everyone. The new comic is now up and I hope it was worth the wait.

Self Reflection

September 10th, 2010 | by Zach Thomack

I have spent the last three days straight trying to draw a caricature of myself that I can use as a gravatar image. It has really made me second guess my artistic abilities. Each one I draw ends up looking completely different and nothing like me. I’ve come to realize two things. One, that I have an incredibly large nose and two, that the image I have of myself in my head is not at all accurate. The funny part is after each one that I draw I get the feeling that I finally nailed it. Then I present it to my reviewing committee and find out I missed the nail and got my thumb. Who is my reviewing committee you ask, well mainly my wife and two year old son. I just feel up a page in my sketch book and ask my son “Where’s dadda?”, and see which one he points to. I’m thinking that each new drawing possibly represents a different personality of mine. If thats the case then this may take a while.

Oops!

I can’t believe I didn’t get the site updated on time. This is the first time that I have slipped up since I launched the site. Many of you probably didn’t notice but I completely forgot to upload the new comic strip until about 12:30 this morning. All my updates are normally posted by 12:01am for all my fans who suffer from insomnia. Most of you are probably reading this thinking, no one would have known if you hadn’t insisted on proclaiming your failures to the world. I would like to think that you are right except, I know for a fact that there is at least one person possibly in the hospital right now suffering a cardiac arrest all because of me. (You know who you are.)

So please forgive me. I guess I just assumed that I would take Labor Day off. Maybe we should rename the holiday to something more fitting like Non-Labor Day or Laborless Day or possibly I’m Going to Celebrate Working by Not Working Day.

The Great Outdoors

August 30th, 2010 | by Zach Thomack

Well, today I ventured out into the great outdoors. Yes, I am talking about my backyard, or should I say my personal jungle. My backyard is mainly grass. There is one tree and a few bushes. As it turns out, when not properly maintained after a month or two the grass can grow tall enough to swallow a small child. Anyway, I finally took the time to mow the grass and clean up the yard. I have to say it felt nice to be outside, which can be a rare occurrence this time of year with the unbearably hot weather.

My point? Get outside and watch your children around tall grass.
